These conditions typically involve the gradual loss of nerve cells, leading to a decline in cognitive, motor, and sensory functions. Symptoms can include memory loss, tremors, muscle rigidity, difficulty with movement, and speech problems. The causes of neurodegenerative diseases are still being studied, but they generally involve genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors.
